The burned out dilemma

We are living in a world where the burned out dilemma is becoming more and more of a reality rather than an occasional circumstance.  We are living in a world where the effort to keep up and even stay ahead is becoming more and more difficult and as a result we are becoming more frantic because we simply cannot cope.  Enter the burned out dilemma or the burned out syndrome; how ever you wish to label it.

Unfortunately, there is not very much that we can do about this and why?  Because there are too many variables beyond our control in order for us to even try and deal with it let alone to make any sort of affective effort to control it.

The world continues to evolve and spin out of control in so many ways or on so many platforms or in so many arenas.  We are not just dealing with such things as technological evolution; but we also need to face and find ways to deal with cold hard facts such as:

Climate change, a greater need to provide health care and an increase in homelessness, a rapid growth in overall bullying, suffering due to famine and wars, and the continuous assault on the future of our kids.

This is probably just the tip of the iceberg so to speak and with this picture in front of us; it is no wonder the levels of commitment and the ability to pay attention and listen with both ears are all suffering and this is probably due to the burned out dilemma becoming more of a challenge to deal with.

When we become burned out; both mental and physical capacities suffer a major body blow and as a result we need to take time to repair ourselves Not only are we affected but those around us as well.  Many of us are aware of this very grim picture but alas!  There are too many of us who are still either unaware or in the dark or who are refusing to admit it.

So what to do?  I am hoping that we could start some sort of discussion on this and see where we go.

Just my two cents for today.
