A Special Year Made More Special

Ah yes! Happy October everyone and welcome to the first Saturday of this month.
I do believe that fall has settled in for a while but like a kid in a candy shop, I know only full well that the holiday is just around the corner.
Today I am pleased to share our president’s weekly editorial and for this week Donna J. Jodhan shares personal reflections of a year that has been very special for her!
Please give this a read!
Happy weekend everyone!

A special year made more special
By Donna J. Jodhan

As I write this particular editorial, I cannot help but admit that this particular year of 2022 has been one of the most special for me and in my lifetime I doubt whether I will ever see such a special year again.

No, I did not celebrate any special birthday nor was there anything to celebrate birthday or anniversary wise from among the family. It was special, very special, and I am honoured and humbled to share with you.

At the end of May I made a very special trip to Portugal to travel to the Shrine of Fatima and while there I experienced one of the most special and treasured moments. Of my life! An unforgettable encounter with Our Lady of Fatima. It was very surreal, special, and will forever reside in my memory!

On June 03 while still in Portugal I received an email informing me that I had been nominated to receive one of the Queen’s most prestigious awards, the Platinum Jubilee award! At first I could not believe it and as I digested this very treasured piece of news, it dawned on me that this award would probably be the last of its kind that Her Majesty would present and how right I sadly was.

For this is the only link that I would ever have to the Late Queen! A Platinum Jubilee Award that has humbled me and made me feel very honoured and special! So very unexpected for me And I thank those who nominated me!

Then a dream come true for me! I dreamed a dream and I realized a dream! The receipt of my Law degree from the University of London England on July 14! With the Chancellor The Princess Royal, Princess Anne on stage to acknowledge me with a hearty shout of “Congratulations.”! I could not have asked for anything better and I thank my dear friend Jilla and my aunty Angie for having been there to see it all!

That was my special year and now as I get ready to place the memories of Her Majesty’s funeral ceremonies, in my memory bank forever, I have no words left to share!
Just my two cents for today.
