Large market for Spanish-language books in the US | Random Stuff …

Top of the day to you out there!  I’m Donna J. Jodhan, and today I have some breaking news for you.  How much do you know about the market for Spanish translated books?  Well, you are about to find out.

Large market for Spanish-language books in the US | Random Stuff …

Hey!  I have some breaking news for you and it all has to do with the growing demand for books to be translated into Spanish!  Yes, and right here in the good old United States of America.  Spanish-speaking people living in the United States are beginning to demand that more and more English books be translated into Spanish.  They are greedily demanding to learn more and expand their horizons.  They want to learn more about what is going on in the English-speaking world because they realize that they are living in an English-speaking world.

To meet this demand, more and more publishers are getting on the band wagon to release versions of both English and Spanish titles simultaneously.  This is very exciting news for translators as well because what it means is that the need for translators to translate books from English to Spanish is only going to grow with the passage of time.  Spanish translations of books are not going to be limited to any particular field or arena.  Books on health, finance, education, technology, anything, the skies are the limit!

Spanish-speaking Americans is the second largest group in the United States and is expected to grow for the foreseeable future and the experts say that many Spanish-speaking Americans are bound and determined to preserve their language.  Great news for translators plus anyone who is willing to work in both languages.  I am going to leave you with a reference to check out.

They don’t have anything in French (in Toronto at least, maybe in Ottawa it’s different), nor in Spanish or Chinese. Certainly, in the various Chinatowns there are great Chinese-language bookstores, but I always wondered – if you are successful … Now publishers are starting to time the release of English and Spanish versions so they coincide. Best-selling translations have helped the book market overall by alerting readers to the broadening selection of Spanish titles …
