Over the years I have often made a personal commitment to keep a record of some of my favourite phrases and a few weeks ago I was pushed into action while watching the tributes being made to the late John Lewis, United states congressman.
I probably have hundreds of favourite phrases to live by but for now I am going to focus on some of the more prominent ones attributed to the late congressman.
I can only hope that I remember to live by these so here goes.
* Keep the faith.
* Keep your eyes on the prize.
* Never give up! Never give in!
* If you see, then you say, you do!
Congressman Lewis was also known to have often said that getting into good trouble was perfectly all right and this is something that I whole heartedly embrace. There is absolutely nothing wrong with getting into good trouble as long as this trouble is for a worthy cause.
These are the phrases that I hope to continue to live by. To model my commitments to include them and to pass these on to others.
