Ask an Author – September 2020 – Fall Colours

A dirt road winds through an autumnal forest with brilliant red, orange, and yellow leaves.

I think that many folks would agree that fall is probably one of the prettiest times of the year and it all has to do with those vibrant fall colours.

When I had enough vision to see them, I would often use this as a strategy to get my creative juices going. I would walk through the fields staring longingly up at those trees laden with leaves of colours ranging from all shades of yellow to all shades of red and all shades of orange.

Then there were those leaves that were already brown and ready to make their way to the surrounding grass and sidewalk.

Oh how I simply loved to feast my eyes on these magnificent sites and more often than not, it would not take very long for my creative juices to spring into action. I would stay in the fields for hours on end and by the time I returned home I would be loaded with ideas to the point where my mind would begin to overflow.

Now that I can no longer see these colours, I depend heavily on my memory bank to regenerate images for me and I am never disappointed or tired of allowing myself to return to these special and treasured memories.

Just go out there and give this strategy a try. I can guarantee that you won’t be disappointed.
