Ask an Author – February 2019 – Using Comfort Food to Help Soothe

A big bowl of spaghetti in tomato sauce with halved cherry tomatoes and sliced steak on top.Ever thought of using comfort food to help soothe and settle your nerves? Did you know that one of the most important things to a creative imagination and creative juices is the ability to feel settled, calm, and soothed?

As they often say, a sure way to a person’s heart is through their tummy and this applies as well to the above. All you need to do is to choose which type of comfort mood could help to soothe and calm you.

For me I proffer the following suggestions: Spaghetti and meat balls, chicken alfredo, an omelette, a steak sandwich, hot dogs, a bacon sandwich, meat loaf and mashed potatoes.

The trick is for you to first identify a list of your comfort foods and then go from there. They would be foods that do such things as warm and fill a hungry tummy, are easy to prepare, do not take too much time to eat and most of all satisfy your pangs whenever you are tired and down.

Give this strategy a try and see how you make out.
