What to Do When A Written Commitment Is Not Met

Happy March to everyone and I’m Christian Robicheau at the Sterling Creations desk.
Yes; I believe that Spring is almost here despite the continuing knock from old man winter!
For today, I am pleased to share our president’s weekly editorial with you and for this week Donna J. Jodhan discusses what to do when a written commitment is not met!
Happy weekend everyone.

What to do when a written commitment is not met
By Donna J. Jodhan

This is what happened to me when I took 2 of my pairs of pants to have the cleaner and alterations store put in new elastic for me.

The owner agreed to have my two pairs of pants ready in a week’s time but when my friend arrived a week later to collect them? They were not ready and the owner said that she had not started work on them.

She said that she did not have the elastic needed to carry out the work and asked my friend if I would be okay to have a different elastic used to do the work.

I found this to be very unacceptable! This lady did not even take the time to call me before hand to ask if I would be happy for her to substitute another type of elastic.
The receipt clearly said that I could pick up my pairs of pants in a week’s time but alas! This lady showed no remorse, and gave no apologies.

Two days later and she is still working on my pairs of pants.
Hopefully I can pick them up soonest but I will surely advise anyone looking for someone to carry out alterations to stay far away from this establishment.
A lack of competence should not be tolerated and above all anyone who serves customers should and must show more commitment to service.

Now, I am very pleased to share that this story has a very happy ending.
Yes, I received my finished two pairs of pants but the owner gave me a $5 discount along with an apology.
So all ended well on this occasion.

Just my two cents for today.
