We are living in very precarious times these days and I don’t think that we should expect this to change any time soon. With this in mind we need to find ways to hold on to the things that will help to keep us afloat and to let go of those things that will not.
Thank God; one of the things that will or can definitely help to support us is mentors! We need them more than ever now and we need to keep telling them this.
Some of us already have our mentors in place while some of us are still searching for them. For those who are searching for their mentors, just be reassured that they are not that difficult to find. Believe it or not, they are only a call or an email away! A text away or even just standing quietly waiting for you to reach out!
They are within calling distance of you! They are waiting and watching patiently for you to make the first move. They may even be giving you some hints that they are there for you! All you need to do is just reach out!
Who are they? They are your parents and your grand parents! They are your older siblings! They are your teachers, your guardians, even your family doctor or counsellor!
They could even be your lawyer or your banking officer! The person that you most admire! Just remember now! Your mentor is the one who listens, advises, and guides. Not to be confused with your role model who you admire and wish to pattern your life after!
