Let’s be more positive

We are living in a world where it is becoming increasingly more difficult to see the good in things and in each other but we should not let this stop us from being more positive.

We continue to face challenges that often make it more difficult for us to smile, laugh, and be cheerful; but we should not allow this to stop us from being positive.

We continue to come up against situations where instead of someone saying thank you for having done your best or that they appreciate the time that you took to get the task done; they instead complain, criticize, and when asked to help they turn their backs on you and say that they do not have the time.

What we need to do is that each time just before we succumb to the urge to criticize and complain; we should take a wee moment to look at ourselves in the mirror and figure out why we would want to complain and criticize.

We need to ask these questions of ourselves: would we have done the task if called upon?  Could we have done as good a job or even better?  Why are we really criticizing and complaining?  Is it to help the person or simply to be an irritant?

Whatever it is, at the end of the day we need to realize that negative criticism and complaining only serves to create and foster  such things as dissention, discomfort, and negative backlash.  What we need to do is to replace this with constructive and positive words of encouragement.

Just my two cents for today.
