Tips from Author Jodhan

For November 2017:

Combining the senses to help create

I have found this strategy to be extremely helpful and it involves using all of my senses at the same time. However, I use my imagination to substitute for the sense of sight because of my vision impairment.

Having had partial vision previously enables me to do this but for those who have never had vision; it is not a problem because they can definitely utilize their other senses to make up for the loss of sight.

I always find it lots of fun to use each of my senses in no special order of priority whenever I wish to spark my imagination and creative juices. Taste and smell work really well together and taste and touch also have their own abilities to help me out.

I often combine hearing and smell and then I add my imagination to bring in the addition of vision whenever needed. It never ceases to amaze me how much the sense of taste combined with any of the other senses can do to spark and create and even when used on its own the effect is astounding.

The sense of smell has its way of drenching up memories which often lead to ideas racing each other across my mind and before I know it the other senses are jumping in and then everything moves so quickly and soon enough my table of ideas is simply overflowing.

I would really like for you to try this strategy and see what you think. It takes practise of course but just be a patient and wait for the results to happen.

So go out there and give this a try.
