Ways to improve your imagination

Let's face it; without a well functioning and well oiled imagination most of us will probably be unable to put our creative juices to work. For those of us who write for a living or even for those of us who simply write as a hobby, we need our imagination to keep us going.

So how can we do this in a world that is becoming more inundated with noise and clutter? Not possible you say? I say that it is indeed possible but we need to find ways to do it and at the end of the day it is really not that hard to do.

I have a few tricks up my sleeve that I use constantly and I am going to share these with you. The first tip would be to find a quiet place where you can hear yourself think. Next would be a place where you would feel comfortable being at; a favorite coffee shop, restaurant, park, beach, etc. The third would be engaging in a favorite activity that would stimulate your metabolism; playing a fast pace game, doing yoga, or even something like cooking or playing your favorite instrument.

Then there are the things that you would engage in as a means to take your mind off your work. Watch a movie, read a book, go for a walk, do some knitting, go to a pottery class, etc. You see, so many different ways for you to stimulate your imagination and there is more but I am sure that by now you get the picture.

So just go out there and use some of these techniques to help improve and stimulate your imagination.
